Themes on GI are similar to "skins" in other software which you might have used. Each is an entirely different "look-and-feel" for all of the areas of GI, with unique color schemes, although physical arrangement of most things on GI remain the same regardless of the Theme chosen.

Currently there are three different Themes available to Residents (Visitors are not able to change the GI Theme):

Deep Blue Sea theme: This is based on the color scheme that's been the default for several years, with dark blue backgrounds, and plum highlights.

Island Grasses theme: Various shades of green on a fairly light background bespeak green dune-grasses with the blue of the ocean not far off.

Sand Castles theme: Sandy colors are accented with maroon for an even lighter overall take than the Island Grasses theme.

You can change the Theme which is used to depict GI to you by clicking MY PROFILE in the main top Comm Panel, then choosing LOOK AND LAYOUT on the left of your Profile page, then CHANGE beside your current theme. You'll be shown thumbnails of each theme and allowed to switch to any of them
